Re: Stolen Boa, need help.
I was linked to this from arachnoboards.com and I'm crying so hard. Like snot pouring out of my nose crying. I'm so sorry Rick. I'm so ashamed to be the same species as those monsters that did this to that beautiful snake.

Re: Stolen Boa, need help.
*HUGS* Awww, Rick,
Sorry to be coming into this so late in the game, but I wanted to add my heartfelt sympathies for your loss of Aurora.
Not that I can offer much, being on the west coast, but know that my prayers go out to you during this time of mourning.

Shakespear (you know what I mean) I've been away only got in here now. This is terrible. I hope she comes back as a cytotoxic snake and gets them on the unmenstionables (and they survive).
Really sorry. Have a hug from a far.

Re: Stolen Boa, need help.
Thank You to everyone for showing such great support.
Just to update you, Absolutely nothing has come of the police investigation, or the reward money that's been offered.
This is just totally depressing. I figured we would have gotten somewhere with the reward offer. To think that someone knows and ain't talking, or is intimidated into silence, just disturbs the heck out of me.
I'll give it a couple more weeks with the reward bumped up to a grand, then I'll just start sending people back the money they pitched in to help get the reward higher. I'm really starting to feel like I am just spinning my wheels here, and getting absolutely nowhere.
The silence is not very encouraging at all.
Thanks again for the support.

Re: Stolen Boa, need help.
Unfortunately because it was "just a snake" there probably won't be any sympathy for anyone (outside of the reptile community) to find the person responsible for this horrifying tragedy. Only people who have snakes as pets can truly understand what they mean to us.
We offer condolences to you and your family.

Re: Stolen Boa, need help.
Did you ever report it to the new agencies? Getting the world out to a lot of people that way might help, plus bring it to the attention to some animal rights people in your area.

I agree. News casters love a story a like this, and it really might help you out.

Re: Stolen Boa, need help.
Well, around here, it's not good enough news apparently. Channel 14 didn't even honor me with a return email. Maybe I should have said my name is Pedro, and they stole my Chihuahua. Shames me to say it, but around here, you are not a part of the community unless you are of Hispanic descent. Anyone who has lived here for more than a couple years knows, that's just how it is in general. (insert sarcasm here) You know, real American like.
The newspaper will run an ad, but I thought the price was a bit overwhelming. I can't really shorten it up, or all the facts wouldn't be there. So, to be honest, I just gave up on the whole media route. That was a big part of my discouragement actually.
As for the High School, yes. Fliers were posted, and a couple of the students, who's parents I know, are keeping an eye/ear open for any clues. But nothing has surfaced from that either.
But we're talking teens too. They got more important things going on in life at their age. Like grades, hormones, social status, etc. I was a teen once, I remember what it was like. Sorta.

Unfortunately, about 90% of the mentality in this area is, "it's just a stupid animal, big deal". They'd sooner buy a street corner bum a quart of beer, then offer a stray dog some water. So you are probably not far off on your view of things. Pretty sad, ain't it. But truth is, most people these days just plain suck.
But you guys all rock. Your support has been a big help. Especially now that I haven't been able to handle her for a while. I really miss her a bunch.
Thanks again.

Re: Stolen Boa, need help.
That's a shame about the news channel, but I get where you're coming from. It's getting much the same down here. I could go into a whole other rant on that, but it's not the time or place.
All I can say is I hope somehow or another you find those scumbags who did this. I sure would like for them to come on a road trip down here to Houston. I've got a husband and a friend or two that would like to have a nice long "talk" with them. After I'm done discussing things, of course.

Read page two, they found the snake.
I just wish people in general would show a little more respect for all life not just their own.

America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. Re: Stolen Boa, need help.
aw man..... that is so terrible. I can not imagine what i would do if something so cruel happened to Gaara or Sai. i am so sorry, it takes a lot to break my heart nowadays, and i am deeply sorry for your loss. if i had more than i do, i would offer to help chip in for a reward fund. but I hope you find the *naughty words* who did this and bring them to the kind of justice found only in a madman's imagination. my deepest condolences.

Re: Stolen Boa, need help.
Wanted to update everyone.
Seems the police are of the opinion that it was a lone culprit. He probably got a big surprise when he opened the bag, and did the deed and dumped the body. There is not enough blood around the site to indicate it happened there, the head and bag are still missing. And a $1000 reward for info has yielded nothing.
A few high school kids admitted, when asked by police, that they saw her on the trail, got freaked and threw some rocks, but soon realized she was already dead. The police said they believe, them, and it sorta fits with the other evidence above.
That being said, I have returned all donations for this cause. Just wanted to make sure everyone got them.
Thanks for all your support and help.

Re: Stolen Boa, need help.
I am infuriated by this. I screamed profanities when I saw what they did to her.
Hopefully the next bag they reach into has a diamondback in it.
It must be a very small group of kids who actually know who did it, because I can't imagine a teenager not turning on somebody for a grand.
