I don't have reading comprehension problems, but I am having trouble figuring out your posts. In another post you claim to have over 12 years experience...now in the post above you claim over 6...?????
You've had many hots (according to your posts) and got rid of them because of a close call. You got rid of some burms because YOU weren't able to adjust to THEIR behavior. All of this in 6 or 12 years....Now you think a retic is your next snake. If you get the retic it will end poorly at best. Please don't get the retic.

So I fail to see what difference it makes.

I suggest you read and comprehend what spix wrote. If you can't expect the unexpected from a dangerous reptile....you have no buisness trying to keep one.

no the post about 6 years was b/c he/she said to keep a single snake for over six years. which i was saying i have. i actually decided to pick the super tiger up last night. its just a baby, but has a bad temper. i'm gonna give it a week or so to get use to its new enviroment then im gonna try to hold some of the aggression out of it. hopefully after it bites me a billion times and realizes it isnt getting it anywhere it may settle down some. i doubt it, but i can hope for the best. And i was able to adjust to my burms behavior i just have never been a burm fan. not b/c of their attitude or anything. just dont think they are a very pretty or appealing snake. thats just me tho, but always liked retics. so i thought i'd start out with burms to get some experience with really big snakes that have some aggression issues before getting a big snake that has alot of aggression issues. and for the hots you are right i got rid of them b/c of a close call. reason being if a 4 foot monocale gets you then that very well is the end of you if you dont get to the hospital ASAP. if a 4 foot retic latches on then you just get a nasty bite. A 10 foot plus retic is a different story. But still less dangerous then something with strong enough venom to kill you with just a single graze on the skin.

Re: Shop Owner Saved From Python Attack
Well this thread isn't the time or place to have an argument. I just hope for the sake of you and that retic that you know exactly what you've gotten yourself into. How big was that burm of yours before you got rid of it? Do you have someone around to help you handle your retic when it puts some size on? Do you know how to get that snake off of you if it decides you smell like lunch? Does your wife? Are you prepared to deal with that snake if it hits 15 feet and still wants to bite you, or will you just dump it like you did the burm and the hots once it gives you a good scare?

biggest burm i had was about 16 feet. she was a sweetheart tho. had a 14 foot one too that was mean as heck. yes i know how to get it off if it wants to eat me. once it gets 6 to 8 foot it wont be out unless one of my two friends is there. one of which has had several big retics. the other has had big burms and big BCI's. i know a big BCI doesnt compare to a big retic but he also has dealt with our other friends huge big retics. and when it gets big if it still wants to eat me yes i will keep it. i love retics and have always wanted one. the burms and hots were more of a learning experience.
