Dog saves kid from snake

Family dog saves toddler from deadly snake | the Daily Mail

This is not meant to be pro-dog or anti-snake or anything, but I thought it was a nice story. The snake did nothing wrong, but the dog did something very good.

Alternatively maybe if the toddler was not tossed, it would have been bitten. Lol the scenarios go both ways.

not to mention I doubt the snake really cared about the girls best interests, but ya know, maybe it was one smart snake.

Re: Dog saves kid from snake

what a very lucky girl, many times i have pondered moving from the states to australia, but the risk there seem so high, land of the most poisonous animals.
maybe not so much anymore, exspecially since we are having a baby.

Actually, initially I was kidding by offering the alternative...

...however, really though, do snakes just go around biting people or dogs without feeling threatened? The dog was clearly excited around the snake, possibly by the snake. Perhaps it was worried about the snake attacking, but I kinda doubt it. I just don't picture a snake sitting in hiding waiting to bite little kids for no reason. I'm surprised so many here are actually buying the story so easily. I'm not saying what is presented isn't the truth, but I'm not saying I totally buy it.

And no, I'm not saying the snake bit the dog cuz it tossed the girl... that was the joke part.

Re: Dog saves kid from snake

No, the snake wasn't trying to bite the girl. I don't think anyone here is saying that. It was most likely in hiding and the girl was approaching his hiding spot and he was hissing in defensive response. That probably alerted the dog and caused him to act out of the ordinary (trying to nudge the girl away) before finally tossing her.

I don't think anyone is saying that the snake had a malicious intent of wanting to bite the girl for no reason. But the girl probably would have gotten bitten for playing around the bushes that he was in. And it wouldn't be the snake's fault.
