Snake That Ate Electric Blanket Recovering
KTVB.com
Friday, September 1, 2006

SUN VALLEY -- It made news all over the world - the Sun Valley snake that ate a queen-sized electric blanket. Houdini the python is recovering after surgery to remove an electric blanket consumed by the reptile. Well, we have an update for you on the Burmese python. His owner says "Houdini" is making a full recovery from the ordeal.

Last month, two Ketchum veterinarians operated on the 12-foot snake to remove the blanket Houdini accidentally consumed while eating his dinner. Six weeks later, the snake is finally allowed to eat again - technically, his first meal in three months since his last feast was removed along with the blanket.

Houdini’s owner did buy him a new blanket, but now removes that from the snake's cage before his feedings.
