So what's the bottom line??
I was sort of skeptical when I saw this story had been circulating for a while---what does everyone ls think??
This on the venomlist:

Woman Bit By Snake At Home Depot
April 12, 2006 01:36 PM EDT
An Austin woman is recovering after being bitten by a rattlesnake at a local
home improvement store.
The woman was buying a plant at the Home Depot store in Lakeway when a
snake, which was coiled inside the pot, bit her on the thumb.
The woman, who declined an interview, spent three days in intensive care
before being released from the hospital on Tuesday.
Home Depot representatives have not commented.

Another Store, Another Snakebite... Again
Police are still calling it an "open case," but a news report out of Oro Valley, Arizona says a 36-year-old woman was bitten by a rattlesnake in the garden department of the local Home Depot store. Authorities haven't released the name of the victim, who was apparently rushed to the hospital for anti-venom treatment and released. In a related story, a Brownwood, Texas man who claimed he was bitten by a rattlesnake in Wal-mart's shoe department last September has been arrested by police on charges of filing a false report.

But then T Cole, a well known hot head said this yesterday:
Local Channel 7 is doing a Snake Awareness interveiw with me tonight at 9pm
CST in light of this bite.

Huh, well in Austin, Texas I can see where it could have got in there..
I dont doubt that could happen..I mean, it wasnt in the SHOE dept LOL
Maybe if the guy in the 2nd story had said he was bitten in the Garden ctr it would have been believable.
I imagine it is a possibility she was ACTUALLY bitten, but if so, what happened to the snake?

I can believe it, we get snakes in every type of building here. Most are bull snakes, but still most people get bit by a snake and it must be a rattler and they are going to die. Our Home Depot keeps the doors open all the time and has fields on both sides of it, they have birds in the rafters, why not snakes in the pots? And really, if I get bit by a venomous snake in a store my family better get to shop for free there for the rest of our lives, Lol.

Heres one I got from www.snakesofarkansas.com They posted this one there and I thought it was pretty interesting...
Especially this little statement:
"My dad went outside and found the snake. It was a small rattlesnake, and it was coiled up, ready to get the next person that came by," said Melly's sister Norma Escudero."
Yeah Im sure it was sitting there waiting on someone...
