Oslo - The old saying, once bitten twice shy apparently did not have any meaning to a Norwegian man who was treated twice in the same day for snake bites, reports said on Tuesday.
The man said to be in his 30s was taken to hospital on Monday after being bitten by a rattlesnake, police said.
While in hospital, it emerged that he had been treated earlier Monday for another snake bite; attributed to a Wagler's pit viper, a tree-living snake found in South East Asia.
The snake collector had discharged himself from hospital after the first bite, police said.
Police said the man kept plenty of snakes and lizards, as well as spiders in his home in Baerum, just west of the capital Oslo. Veterinarians have taken care of the man's menagerie while he was in hospital. - Sapa-dpa
