Snakes stolen from Belfast shop

Pet owners were tonight warned to be on their guard against several large snakes believed to have been stolen from a Belfast city centre shop.

Police warned the public that while the snakes - all three to five feet long - were not venomous, they might bite and could pose a danger to small household pets.
Four snakes went missing from the shop; a Cook`s Tree Boa-constrictor, Royal Python, Californian King Snake and a Sunbeam snake. Each is worth several hundred pounds.
Also taken was a very large and very valuable Hermon Tortoise.
