Yesterday's (and Today's) Thought of the Day

Thought of the Day:
If USARK wants more letters perhaps they should give us more than just two weeks notice to collect signatures and get them in. HR 669 didn't get 50,000 letters in two weeks and neither will S373. Let's set a more realistic time frame here.

Re: Yesterday's (and Today's) Thought of the Day

The 2 week time frame was a combination of factors. First, there were other initiatives folks were working on. (ie, email, fax, phone, etc..)

Second, they wanted this campaign to be different and be supported by a website along with an instructional video.

Third, they wanted to compile as many components of the letter campaign as possible (ie, Senator address list, sample letter)

Finally, the holidays played a role.

Initially, this was supposed to be rolled out prior to Christmas so as to encourage folks to print these out and take them with them during holiday travel. Unfortunately, all of the stars aligned just afterwards.

It's unfortunate that this ended up taking so long to get going, but thankfully the framework is all set for the future!

Thanks for voicing your concern!

Re: Yesterday's (and Today's) Thought of the Day

I agree that the holidays were a factor too. Otherwise I would have been able to obtain more signatures.
