f) Anything else you would like to tell us about your critter: We got him from a kid you does local rescue and had gotten a call from the police who had gotten a 911 call about a venomous reptile in the McDonald's bathroom. That cute little thing bit him good!! He bled all over and it took a long time to get him off. This kid couldn't wait for us to take him off of his hands!!
I'm letting him settle in. He seems to come to me on the glass but I've heard they can be very aggressive so I'll try handling him some time when I can devote a couple of hours toward getting him off of me and fixing the wound.

Thank you very much! The pic was taken after I opened the box we brought him home in. I scooped him up (bare handed) and put him in his new home not knowing how vicious they can be. My wife moved him into a bigger tank this past weekend and he clamped onto the leather driving gloves she was wearing. I wasn't there to take a pic.
Here's his new home. It's a 30 gallon hex tank. Lots of wall space for him. He hides on the back of the rock tower during the day and walks all over the glass at night.

They can be tamed if they're handled frequently as youngin's, but havin' attitude makes me love the tokays more. My male has recently been "chirping" a mating call in the evenings which I've never heard him do before, since I've had him for several years. I had just put him in a new bigger enclosure, so he must be happy with it. lol I feel bad that he doesn't have any females to get pimp with, lol!

He's the only herp we have with an attitude, other than our veiled chameleon, but he's calmed down alot. He actually walked onto my hand this morning!! It's only the 4th or 5th time he's done that. Sometimes he puffs up and huffs, other times he just backs up. We like him because of his attitude.

We took him as a rescue not knowing anything about them. I'm looking forward to doing battle with him, someday when we have time to do major repairs to my hand! I get enough scratches from the Tegus, a 9 lb lizard that only see's you as an obstacle in the way of getting what he wants can do some damage. He likes to climb up the front of me and down the back, leaving lots of scratches in the process. Nothing aggressive, he just moves with a purpose.
