All good things.
It has been quite a while since I have had the unhappy need to post here, but tonight, my largest female BCI, Perdidta gave me that need. She had not been doing well for quite some time, but I never could figure out exactly what it was... I chalked it up to old age... it is hard to guess just how old she was, but somewhere between 15-20 years old as close as I can estimate.
I went into the snake room today to find her belly-up.
With the help of my dear friend Gib, I preformed her necropsy, and she had some huge tumor like lesions on her lungs and intestines. She also had a full intestinal blockage that I don't think we would have stood a chance of finding. I am putting the blockage down as cause of death, but the cancerous tumors could not have helped anything.
I will leave you with a pic of Perdita, the Queen of my Snakes.

Aw man, that really sucks. I know how much you cared for her. It's always hard to lose a pet you've had for a long time. She had a great home for as long as she was in your home. She was a beautiful snake.

Sorry to hear that Morti. That is the problem with having live creatures be our passion.

Morti,
I know how concerned you were about Perdita lately and watching how you and LadyDragon take care of your snakes, I can see they have a good home with you. It was just Perdita's time to go.
That hurts no matter when it happens and she lived a long life.

I can't say enough how much this sucks my man. I know how much you loved Perdita and it crushed me to hear this. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to call.

Thanks everyone. It means a lot to both of us knowing your thoughts are with us. At least we have offspring that will continue her line. In a way, that makes her immortal. She will always be with us in spirit

Sorry about Perdita, Morti and Ldydrgn. I'm sure all your animals are fortunate to have such loving owners as the two of you.
