Akureyri, it was a while ago that you lost your other snakes to IBD. How long can the virus live in your home? Is it possible that this latest death was from the lingering virus?

It can live indefinitely in a host that may be asymptomatic.

it isnt really fully known how long the virus can live outside its host environment, there are speculations and hypotheses' about how long it can remain active outside the body, but not known for a fact
