I had to have my buddy of 15 years, Scotty (a Border Collie), put down a year ago in May. I still miss him! My deepest sympathies Kim.

My g/f's parents had to put their dog to sleep today.

My sympathies.....truly a hard thing to deal with....I've lost a few so I certainly understand.
Also what a great blessing it is to have those we love so much with us for the time we do...
she looked like a real character ....I do however believe we will have our dear pets about us again someday.....I don't know why but I strongly believe this.
I currently have a 8 yr old Lab that it will break my hubby's heart to lose. Also my Yorkie's Mom Vickie passed last year in my arms.....still hurts to remember it. Her children.....I have 2 left are 12 and 11....the 12 yr. old is my first Champion Yorkie and will just about do me in when he goes.....I am so very grateful to have them though for whatever time I can...
they add so much to our lives.....I had the following put on Vickie's stone....
"Those we have held in our arms for a little while, we hold in our hearts forever."
God Bless You and Yours....
Sandy

Thank you all for your replies.
Saggs was a unique character. She was so well trained for"home" bite work and would let me do absolutly anything to her. (for a Shar-pei cross thats great) She'd never hurt a fly.
I wish they made a dog that would live as long as us. A lifelong companion.
And you know what she acted like a puppy right up to the end.
I deal with euthinasia everyday multiple times a day sometimes, and it never gets easy.....
It just hurts now.... but it will get better.

Awww, nooo. I'm so sorry to hear it. This hits way too close to home. I had a yellow lab, Molly, whom I grew up with. She died at age 15. Come to think of it, today (April 27th) is the 4 year anniversary of her passing.
