mysterious death
i went in monday morning to mist my ball pythons and found minnie.a wildcaught ball ive had for a year and a half dead in the tank.he was in a shed and had alittle blood on his mouth.he hadnt showed signs of anything wrong.nor had he gone off his feed.i rushed his body in for an autopsy thats costing me $150.00 so far.so far they dont know why he died.i get the test results for the scary and dreaded ibd test friday morning.i am scared for all my others, but ibd has lots of signs and he showed none.he was a nasty wildcaught, that even almost 2 years later would still draw blood anytime i stuck my hand in the tank and he hissed louder than any snake ive ever seen, but i wouldnt have gotten rid of him for anything.i recieved him and one other when a rescue i worked with siezed a whole pet store.i kept the balls.i removed ticks, wormed, and worked months to get them feeding.he even ate in a feed tub. i wouldnt place them out because they did so good with me.i was afraid placing them out would set them back.so they stayed.they were my first wildcaughts.when i opened the tank that monday morning and looked in i knew it was him and he was gone.this is my first loss of an established animal.i am devistated and depressed.once the results come back at least ill have awnsers(god willing none bad that affect my others).i miss him and right now its hard to look in the tank.ill never forget you minnie.

i think its hard for everyone to accept. i know that when i got bit by my female BCI the other night, the first thing that came to mind was "is she ok". its nice to know theres people out there that care that much about their snakes, along with other pets. im sure its nothing you caused, im sure you took more than excellant care of him, so dont be too hard on yourself
