It was all too much for him
My little rainbow boa Archie died this morning (8am GMT). He was ok at half seven and I had a quick cuddle, and left him to drink. When I came back he was on his back. I rushed him to the vet but they told me he had no heartbeat. We buried him in the back garden this evening. It breaks my heart but at least he isn't suffering anymore. He was my first snake, and I loved him to bits. he'll always be my little man. I'm glad I cuddled him before he died, but I miss him ever so much.

How old was he, if you don't mind me asking? I'm sorry for your loss Joanna. I know how attached you can get to your first snake. I hope you feel better!

he was just over two years. he was the one that escaped about a month ago and turned up cold and with a tooth abcess last week. he underwent a clean out at the vets and has been on antibiotics, but I guess it was just too much and his little heart gave out.

thankyou. We buried him in the back garden. I had one last cuddle before we buried him. Really didn't want to let him go. Just wanted to put him in his cage and keep him warm, even though that's just silly. the vets were fantastic when I went - buck - did you get the address or shall I PM you with it?
