R.I.P Dezi
Ok, let me start off with the story of the snake. I first got him in 2002. I have had him for a while. I actully drove down to VA to pick him up with my old best friend who is now married, and is off with her new life. Over the thick and thin, I have been trying to get him to eat for me. Once he started to eat, I was so relieved that I was able to own a WC proven genetic animal. I felt very special. I bred him back when I first got him. that's how I know he was proven again. After a year, I had hard times and had to move out where I wasn't allowed to own any animals. So my old friend had them for two years. I only had a few snakes. And guess what, since then, only those snakes who lived with her, died this year in my care This male died of possibly old age, but the necropsy came back that he had a very bad liver. It was like somone who drank a lot of alcohol. I kinda think it was from my best friend who smoked a lot. But this could be possible. But we will never know.
So anyway, after the year of breeding him, I decided to sell him. Well, someone from KS decided to trade. So sure, I sent him out. Next day, UPS lost the package in UT and said that they saw holes in the box, and open MY PACKAGE! They saw it was a snake, and took him to the humane Soc. They called me to let me know they confescated this animal and told me that I would have to pay a hefty fine. I told them that I had a account, and they opened the package without informing me first! So I faught for this darn snake for three months to get him back to PA. I finally won, and got him back. After waiting on him eating once again, I was going to ship out threw Delta. So I did. He arrived healthy and fine.
After a week or two, the lady calls me back, and says this snake is sick. I told her that he was healthy and had a clean bill of health at the vet. So after fighting with her due to that she did something to him, she sent him back. And no, I didn't get my traded animal yet.
He arrived with a huge lump on his butt. I took him to the vet, and she said he had a hemoriod. So I treated him and after he deficated...he had bedding in it!!!
After another year, he grow healthy and, much better on trusting humans again. I was getting out of the ball python breeding, and go into boa's. I put him up for sale, and no one was interested for a while. Well, a nice guy from the southern states calls me and tells me he wants to do a breeding loan. Well, I agreed. We did a contract, and he arrived healthy and happy. The fellow treated this snake like gold. Saturday after thanksgiving, he passed away.
Dezi, I will miss you. And I hope your next life, you will have a much better life. I hope your years in the Wild was also pleasent. I'm so sorry.
