Merli
My chameleon is dying. She's been going downhill recently, slowing down a bit and not eating well, and loosing weight. She's getting old, and even though I've tried a variety of foods she just hasn't been herself. This morning she was on the floor of the cage and cold, so I picked her up to move her under the heat lamp, and she's barely responsive. Wouldn't even swallow any of the water that I tried to syringe feed her. I don't expect her to be alive when I get home from work. Poor little one. I will miss her.

She turned 4 in February. She was gone when I got home. Now I have to decide if I want to tear down her cage or leave it up. I can't afford another chameleon any time soon, and I'm not really sure I want one right now anyway, but maybe in the future I will. Guess that decision can wait.

She was a panther chameleon. I've heard that average for females is 3-5 years, so she was right in the middle.

When i was 14, I got a green iguana. Her name was Gretchen. I used to take her out with me, even took her too school one day for a biology report on desert tundras. Shortly after my 16th birthday i went out of state to visit my relatives. When i returned 3 weeks later she was dead. I had no idea what it was. I thought my family neglected to care for her. A few days later, i found a baby iguana underneath my fridge. Sadly she died during birth. Unknowing ly i put it in the tank, and it was instantly eaten by the father.

my 5ft iguana passed while i was in denver for my mother's funeral in january. losing a good friend sucks. it seems weird to say it but my mom's passing really didn't bother me because we knew it was coming, but losing dude tore me up. i'm saddened by your loss.
