This one's for all the rats & mice, etc. I'm serious. In the last few months, I've had a few rounds with snakes who for one reason or another (some known, some unknown) have refused f/t for a while, so I've had to kill some feeders for them myself. None of these animals died deaths I'd want for myself or anyone / anything I loved.

Nothing new here -- I eat meat sometimes; I've been a fisherman since childhood and I kill & keep a trout or two here and there. Just part of how life is, I know, but I felt like something should be said in recognition of these animals whose lives we take in order to sustain the lives of our beloved pets.

Yeah, I second that! I've lost count of the number of mice I've swung by the tail against something solid. Here's to the mice that give their lives so that others may live! May their offspring grow fat 'n juicy!

it may sound stupid to some, but i totally agree.
i was just mentioning this at bob clarks site, and was told to get balls!
some people really suck. these are lives, just because they are feeders, they still have to be respected.

i like what jeff ronne put on his boa forum about rats- these guys are very smart and are like little dogs.

dont laugh, i haveto kill 200- 230 animals every 10 days. i always ask for forgivness. most of those are pinks/fuzzies and crawlers. man, those lil' things are cute!!!

but, its something that must be done- i love my snakes way to much!

talk about cute, i had to pre kill a giant rabbit for my burm! thisthing was like 15 pounds!!! i felt like crap doing that!!!

dont worry mirabel- you do get used to it (as morbid as it seems). its something that has to be done.

I agree too, I had to buy a live rat or two when I ran out of f/t and could not get more for awhile. My friend kept a few and let me tell you, rats are really intelligent animals! It is the food chain and all, but I can't stress how unfair it is too feed live for both animals if you can avoid it in any way.

It makes you think how many rodents, rabbits and chicks are killed a year and then frozen.

Just for our beloved, cold-blooded companians.

Let their souls rest in peace.
