There were two to choose from, it was the dark face and those incredible eyes the sold me, that and the strange pattern onhis neck. Glad you all like him. He is a sweetie, just like my Merci. Leave it to me to be backwards. I have two of the nicest retics ever and two tacky tempered burms. *shrug* So much for generalizations, huh?

Gee, Lori, maybe it's my ego thing. I always like driving pick up trucks so I would be up higher than other vehicles, I have a dog that outweighs me (I have always owned a dog over 100 pounds, rottweillers, Rhodisian Rigdebackes, Gt Dane...,)one of my favorite riding horses was my tall black stallion, and I just LOVE the big pythons. Maybe I am making up for the shy little girl I always was/am. *shrug* Maybe you're right. lol (oh, I love to chase cows, too)

wow cool snake. i love retics. they are my second favorite snake (first being both Emeralds and Green Trees). but i can't handle 20+ feet of snake and then there's the enclosure problem. i just can't justify shelling out the money for a dwarf retic but they're so beautiful!

So far my retics have been great tempered beasts. I do tend to handle them quite often as (shhh, don't tell Murray) retics are my favorite snakes of all time. These two are 'dog tame' as they say. I can take them to the school and let kids maul them. They never seem to mind at all. I think Merci actually enjoys it. My burms don't appreciate the attention as well. Both the males get hissy and the female will occassionally poo on me if she gets 'offended.' I have Merci n a cage beside my bed. Quite often I just open the cage and pet her when I can't fall asleep. She is extremly alert and appears very intelligent. She will even crawl off me to potty. The burms are responsive, but don't seem to be quite as much so as the retics. Merci can recognize me from a distance and will watch me as I take care of the other snakes in the room. It's almost creepy, someday when she's 20 ft long, I just might feel more like a rabbit than a 'friend.' Time will tell, but I love these guys. These are my dream snakes, so I have finally made at least one of my dreams come true.

So nice, Lisa. I would love to have Burms and Retics, I think they are gorgeous animals, but being a teeny thing, I'm quite intimidated by their adult size. I'll stick to bci.....hehehee

Juggalofwb, there is only one species of Bci that gets that big, the Boa constrictor impossibility, they can reach and sometimes exceed 25 ft.
