Hard to tell. I dont think its a cane toad, but I havent seen a cane toad that small before so I have nothing to cmopare it to.
Probably a southern toad or one of its ssp.

The closest I can find that ranges in your area would be Southern Toad ( Bufo terrestris). What do you think?

I'll back Tele and Bry up by saying doesn't look like any cane toad I've seen and
I know them from tad poles to adults the size of a softball.

I'm with Bry, looks like a southern to me. Looks nothing even remotely like a cane toad. They are rather distinctive.

seems a bit oddly colored for a southern...but they vary enough in one spot...I'm sure locales vary greatly too...or it could be Joe's fine photography work lol
