HeHe made ya look. Just a couple pics of a newly molted adult. They are pure white right after they molt. I'm pretty sure this one is the first time it developed wings. I'm trying to get the colony big enough to support my lizards, without buying more insect food for them one day.

You don't have to breed cockroaches. Just move to Florida.

Or you can move to Washington DC or New York City. However, much like the locals, the roaches there are downright mean. They carry handguns and the like. Oh yeah, the New York and Florida ones are the size of dogs.

Roaches! Nasty! We had quite a few of em down in Texas when i lived there too. They were different than the New Yorkers though, they were bowlegged from horse riding.

That's true...and ya wanna know the weird, unbelievable, ironic part about it April, I'm actually waiting upon a job offer from one of my previous bosses there in Vegas. After all my moaning and groaning about the place I can't believe I'm considering going back...but hey, I can be bought with the right salary. Could be worse, could be...Georgia!!! I've found that Texas roaches just laugh at you when you step on them. They're some tough lil' nasties.

Actually, the roaches are indistinguishable from most of the locals. In DC, they like to referred to as "Congresspersons."

Granted, we have 27 species of roach in the state, but we've taken up a notch with palmetto bugs. For the uninitiated, a palmetto bug is a "super roach." They're large, they fly, they're not afraid of light, and they can outrun any foot trying to stomp them.

Nothing wrong with Georgia cept all the outsiders flocking in trying to change us instead of their own lifestyles.
I was an airforce brat growing up and we moved around a lot. Later in life I traveled the country doing fashion photography coast to coast and top to bottom. The only places I liked better than Georgia were parts of Northern California but I could never live out there again for many reasons....the biggest being that it is close to 3000 miles from where my son lives and while the smell of eucalyptus is a pleasant one...it kind of makes ya sick after long exposure. The USA is a neat country. We have everything here...mountains, tropical beaches, deserts, huge cities, small towns, vast open ranges of grasslands, and then that big cornfield we call Indiana lol...but anyway, different lifestyles appeal to different people. Georgia is not all the dueling banjo hick state that Hollywood portrays. There is as much culture in the city of atlanta and other parts of this state as there is anywhere...just don't go checking out the culture in West end after dark lol.
Oh...and back to the point of this post...I've had my fair share of dealing with roaches and have come to really really despise Noah for bringing them on the Ark lol...If it ever comes to a time when I have to breed roaches and nurture them to keep them alive and even take time to photograph them, I'm gonna switch hobbies

When I was about 8 or 9 years old my family lived in Ormond Beach for a couple of years. Now I grew up loving nature...plants and animals just appealed to me, so Florida was pretty cool for experiencing assorted southeastern U.S. critters. This love of nature evolved into a great respect for all living things...or at least almost ALL living things. One day when I was playing with my buddies, doing the usual pushing and shoving kids can do I got pushed backwards and landed into a big ol' palmetto. As I was trying to get out of the darned thing literally a swarm of palmetto bugs (cockroaches anywhere else in the country) crawled all over me. Freaked me out to the point of hysteria. To this day any other creature I have great reverence for...EXCEPT roaches. I see 'em I gotta kill 'em...it's just the way it is. I'll even tear a room apart just to get to and a kill one of them little S.O.B.'s!!! LOL
I'm a firm believer that if you took roaches to Mars they would survive and even thrive!!!
J.S. - Actually I spent a little time in Georgia (my ex is from Snellville) and found many areas very pretty. We are very fortunate to live in a country as marvelous as the U.S.
