Ginger's new house!!

ok so this is the 1st enclosure i have ever built so dont be too judgemental about it! i had a day to build it and i dont think its 100% yet, but close. i will finish painting it when i get more time! Its 6ft long x 2ft wide x2ft deep. The blue is outdoor carpet i use for all my snakes, so ez to clean!! oh it also has casters so its ez to move around! project cost right at about $150

Size is good, and it looks strong and heavy lol. BUT, there is one major thing I would recommend.

You should stain it, then coat it with about 5 coats of polyurethane, then seal up all the seams with silicone. If you dont do these things, urates, poo and water will create bad odor, rotting wood and mold issues.

Once you get it all sealed up that cage will last a life time. It you feel an earthquake you can climb in it! I would think FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) lining the inside would do wonders as well.

Update: stained, polyurethaned and sealed with silicone, tomorrow she will be in her new house!!

it was minwax mahogany stain on the enitre thing, just more coat in the inside
