Man this one was to close. I just got the kids and Rissa in the storm shelter at work and bam. Mother nature gives us a curve ball. Here are a few pics of our town.
Inside the shop where I work.
Not sure who's house this was but it's gone.
Somewhere in the front of this pic is a car, jeep, trailer, and a boat.
Just thought I would post a few pics. There are a lot more in our album if you would like to take a look. Luckily our house was not hit but we feel for the people of this town. Funny it takes a lifetime to build but only a few min to blow it down.

Now that appears too close for comfort......
I used to live in OK and lived in constant fear during tornado season.....one minute it would be fine and then a storm would arrive out of nowhere....
I miss the wide open countryside but not the month of May in OK. We literally lived in the cellar for hours most nights.
Glad you and yours are fine......sure can make you appreciate life can't it?

Man it sure was close. Like joe said we just got in the shelter before it hit. We pulled in at the shop and 2 min later it was on top of us, literally. I've lived with tornadoes my whole life, but like joe said this one was scary. I watched it set down not 300 yards from us. Total time on the ground, in our neighborhood was about 2 min. It was a solid f2/f3. Left a half mile wide path and if you check out the other pix in our album you can see it devastated the town. The national weather service guys said we were lucky in that it wasn't on the ground for long and didn't shift it's track. Personally most people don't feel real lucky about it. There was a team of storm chasers that followed it in from Warren OK so it did some traveling. They're finding checks from people 7 counties away, that are falling on us. We were lucky in that south of here it hit several other towns, in one of them the only thing left standing is city hall.

Glad to hear you and yours are O.K.
I've been through a Cyclone but the damage
doesn't look any thing near to what those tornadoes can do.

You know its funny how it picks what it wants to hit. Our van was setting next to Rissas grandfathers truck. The van was closer to the tornado its was covered with grass and insulation a few scratches and a cracked taillight cover. Rissa's grandfathers truck was totaled. Weired huh!!! ok ok. I'll quit complaining about our little hail storm. You just had to go and outdo me huh. j/k
Glad to see you made it through it ok. I have dealt with the affects of two tornados and that was the outskirts of them. I dont think I'd ever want to be as close as you were.

LOL Just had to mess with ya a bit constrictor!!!
Thats the funny thing about these storms though. You never know where they are actually going to hit. We live in Republic about 7 miles cross country is Battlefield. The radio said it was going to hit Republic in about 10 min so get to shelter. I looked out back and saw hail and debre falling from the sky. We jumped in the van and headed to the shop where I work it has a storm shelter. When we got there it decided to hit. The darn thing jumped Republic and hit Battlefield. Where we was living a month ago.
