Here in VA the coloration and to a lesser degree the pattern can vary greatly among northern water snakes. The pic below was taken in southeastern VA, Back Bay NWR - (aka Stormy's backyard). [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]
