My family and friends have been e-mailing me pictures of the storm back home in Colorado all week. These are from my cousin from earlier tonite. I thought I'd share them with you. Especially with you less-than-fortunate southerners who never/rarely experience snow. Lori, you know you wanna help with the shoveling.
My cousin's husband, Dave, and their 15-month old daughter, Cheyenne.
Day 1 of the storm - the back deck...
The next morning...
still snowing...
Dave helped out ALL the neighbors...
Ahhh, much easier than shoveling...
The shoveled snow is stacked almost as high as Dave is...he's about 6'1" or 6'2"...
It all has to melt SOMETIME...
Enjoy.

Colorado needs water SO badly! I am happy that they finally got some good snow. Hopefully they will have enough to get through the summer, but I doubt that this storm will take care of the problem. It is beautiful though (said as a happy California resident where todays temps are in the upper 60s, low 70s!)

I think that if I had to shovel that much snow, I'd make the same face as Dave in picture #6...

Ti, yeah, Colorado has been under a drought for a few years now. The water company over there is saying that this storm finally brought water levels back to almost normal.
P.S. Has anyone noticed that Dave here is pushing the snowblower wearing only a T-shirt?

Yeah, I recognized it and I would be doing the same. For some reason, my body adapts well to cold weather.

...and THAT is why I still reside in the People's Republic of California! The advantage of living in the foothills of the Sierras is that I can drive up hill to see stuff like that...and then drive home to a more balmy climate! Fun pics though...thanks for sharing!

Hey, if you look down the road like 180 miles, THAT"S ME!! I think that is what our house looked like, except our snowdrifts in Cheyenne reached 8-9 feet. We did not get as much snow, it just blew into huge piles. It was about 24" last I heard, but being as I sunk into a drift upto my hips (my inseam is 34" I think it must have been more. I wish I was back in NC or LA for the winters....
