The Yellow River Game Ranch is a small wildlife rescue/rehab-zoo that is part of Zoo Atlanta but mainly deals with rescue. It is located in Stone Mtn Ga....about 2 miles from my house. They have panthers, bears, fox, raccoons, birds of prey, bobcats, tons of deer that kinda free roam the place and will eat out of your hands and follow you around as you walk the trails...but even with all that there to see...by far, the most fun seems to be the local squirrels that have become a little too comfortable with the people. Megan was in total awe with them....and they all seemed to like her too.
I found a new way to keep my shoes clean....just sit in the middle of the road and let the deer lick them.
Rob (My son) came with us too...He made friends with a few squirrels too but mostly seemed to enjoy the deer. In fact...I was just getting my shoes cleaned when Rob and Megan came back with food and stole my shoe licker away.

Yellow River Game Ranch Photo Album There are some nice deer shots, some purdy peacocks and some more squirrel feeding photos ...one really cute shot of 2 baby goats...sunlight was coming through the trees though and washed out the white goat...nothing I could do about that without blacking out the black one lol....but they were cute and still worth keeping the shot.
