Here is a new Arboreal Acrylic cage that I just made today.
I still need to add the heat mat to the bottom of the cage.

What are you using to bond the sides together?

Hi SnakePool,
The Acrylic is bonded with a solvent that you just spread on the piece you are gluing, and press the joint together. The solvent actually breaks down the acrylic, and the two pieces fuse together.
Hi BWW,
The air holes are in the top.
Hi Billybob,
I would think for some snake it might be stressful.
It just depends on how the person take care of there snakes.

I've seen lots of acrylic aboreal cages but never one with a bottom that slides out. Looks nice and easy to clean. It seems most people like to make aboreal cages clear. I cant wait until i decide i have enough experience to get into more aboreal species.

Tom,
Nice Cage! I have been building them for a couple years now. Are you using 3/8 material? I like the rubbermaid tray idea! I've been making my trays out of acrylic. I just built a new size and tried a radiant heat panel for the first time, man are they great! I use 11" flex-watt under the water tray with a rheostat control for humidity which works great.
Check out how "stressed" these 2 are! LOL

Hi CraigC
Thanks for the complement on the cage & the idea about the heat mats.
Yes my cage is made with 3/8" acrylic. I also used 1" where my sliding doors track is.
Hi deadboy
I always try and make all my cages easy to keep clean.
I find if they are then when people buy them they will more than likely keep the cage clean.
The more elaborate the cage interior is the more likely people will not clean it as good or as often as they should.
Take care,
Tom
