Thanks for posting, Ed r...I owe ya one. FYI, the cages are 3 stackable cages, separated if needed. Each section measures 4' 2' 2'. Materials were pretty cheap, actually. Way under $300!! Tell me what ya think!! This is my first cage building attempt.
There is only one picture...if you click back, I have no idea who that is...is that you, Ed?

Yes, Faze, there is hardware cloth over the lights. You can't see it very well, but it is there. As far as the lights go, for now, they are bright...Next week, I am buying some CHE's to put in there...that was my design all along. I needed to make the cages stackable, so heating was a difficult issue. I did not want the lamps mounted on the side, as it would look tacky. As soon as I get the CHE's, I will be happy.
BTW, for those interested in using melamine, I recommend it. This is my first time using the stuff, and aside from having to iron on edging all around, it works great. It hold temp VERY nicely. Of course, there is a subfloor with heat pads underneath each cage for floor heating. It is working very nicely....and you can't beat the price!! One 4'2'2' cage, materials only, will run ya about $75 to $100.
Thanks for the compliments, guys.

I like plywood, myself. I can get enough sanded plywood for a 4x2x2 for about $30. A lot cheaper than Malamine. All you hafta do is buy some sealant and you're good to go. If you add in the Plexiglass, a 4x2x2'll run me about $45-$50. And plywood's just as nice as Malamine, if not as pretty (this is why I buy paint - $10 a can - still cheaper than Melamine).
