Way to go!
Its always exciting to see BP breeding,
we take sooooo many out of the wild, its good to know there is potential for more "homegrown" BP's.

The male is having some fun with the other female... that's 2 females.

I am not into BP's all that much, but Cathy seems to like them. I still think that it is great to see someone producing them. Anything that helps knock down the numbers we take out of the wild is EXCELLENT.
Congrats Jessie!

Actually, just for perspective, importing ball pythons isn't as bad as some think it can be. The major exporters in Africa are starting to recognize ball pythons as a resource...basically gravid females are kept until eggs are laid & then re-released. Eggs are artificially incubated & babies are then imported. Exporters are starting to understand the importance of sustainable wild populations - i.e. if there are no adult ball pythons, there are no subsequent hatchlings to sell...in turn, this makes conservation of habitat equally important. If we completely eliminate the demand for WC/Farm raised ball pythons, adults will continue to be collected & sold for food to Asian customers. There are already proposed plans for a canning factory in Benin...basically snakes will be collected, slaughtered & processed for food to be sent to Asian markets. While I'm not a big fan of importing, I'll certainly take the lesser of the two evils in this case.
Just my $.02
KLG
P.S. Congrats on the breeding balls...that's awesome!!
