Rattlesnake Pic (and a few coments)

Here's a pic of one of my hots - a male Ft. Lancaster locality mottled rock rattlesnake that I road collected a couple of years ago.

You know, the same thing went through my head when I found him while road cruising...I was like &quot;WTF is a klaub doing here?&quot; But evidently that particular population of leps is known for having reduced mottling. I'm just hoping I can go back next spring &amp; find him a girlfriend. I've been trying to locality-match him for 2 years, and now that I'm on the East Coast it's gotten a bit more difficult. My fingers are REALLY crossed for a trip out West to find some nice locality klaubs, too...the lepidus complex is easily my favorite group of crotalids (besides the ridge-nosed's).

Anyhoo...thanks for the kind words. If that snake wasn't in my collection I'd be wicked homesick!!!
