I don't doubt you on this Thom, but you have already expressed your wish to breed them???
Are you prepared to take personally responsibility for the future's of the offspring ...and their offspring????
I didn't think so.

yup..
-I'm the only one on the island who breeds rats and has a decent supply of them.
-I only sell dead rats to people...who adopted some of the boa's I rescued.and in the future to people who buy snakes from me.
-I will only sell my babies to people I know and who will take good care of them!
- and I will sell them for a lot of money...that way I'll know people will take care of them and not treat them like (julius was here)- I'll give all the information I know how to take care of snakes ( what I've learned here on the site..so I wanna thank everybody) >>for the people who don't have any snakes<<
what other responsibilities can I take?
ohwell...
I really like this site ...redtailboa.net OWNZ..
but people always get attacked from everywhere!!!so its not fun anymore...
And when theres a newbie and he/she posts to say hi ...you guys always say " welcome,we are all one big happy family"????thats not true ..we are always attacking people from everywhere and its really not fun anymore..
people do stupid stuff....but don't beat them with it!
if we are one big family ..we have to be friends and tell them that its not right what you are doing..just tell them ..don't go pick a fight!I've seen it a 100times ..
If we really are the best online herping community we have to start respecting people
I have al lot of friends on the site !!!!and al lot of friends who left because of this.
I've learned a lot !!!actually I learned everything there is to know about redtails on this site!
ANYWAYZ...
REDTAILBOA.NET OWNZ!

Sorry for dragging up an old post,
I couldn't bite my tounge any longer.
Thom ,I don't want to put anyone off this site, it's
a great resource.
You must understand though, bringing up a subject such as
illeagle (or otherwise), exotic animal importation you are going to
provoke a passionate response from people.
We ( including yourself), are generally a happy cohesive bunch,
we will at times have differences of opinions. Most of us
respect each other for voicing them, that is what makes us stronger.

I think it is illegal in my city to have a snake over 6 feet long. (I have one that is eight) I really doubt they enforce this law because i know many people in rescue and pets stores that have snakes bigger than this. same differences i'm breaking the law!

I didnt get to see pic of your new baby. I have two myself. I love them dearly. Good luck with her I am glad she has found a good loving home. How are you raising your rats I am just starting....
If law is an issue, start writing letters, theres a post in Just talk that will inform you of whats going on in Washington.

Talon,
IMO they are very different differences, from whatI
can gather from Wisconsins climate an escaped Ball would'nt
survive one winter.
On Willemstad a ball would have an excellent chance of surviving the climate.
Maybe I'm overly sensitive to this subject, living on an Island where nearly 80%
of endemic mammal speices have become either endangered or extinct due to
introduced species.
Many of us know of a tradgedy in the south Pacific where an introduced snake
basically wiped out hundereds of bird species.
Despte Thomisto's best intentions, if he breeds these snakes and passes them onto others
who will also breed them, very soon it is possible there will be scores of these animals on a very
small Island, and escapes will be inevitable.
It was probably thought Burms escaping and becoming established in one of the U.S.'s
famous National parks was uncomprehendable, yet we are seeing it.
Who knows what impact these animals will have in the future.??
Err on the better side of caution!
