I know, I know...those of you into ball pythons have probably already seen these pics on "another" herp site, but I am so in love with these little girls that I just had to share them here, too. Since hatching in early November, both Coral Glows are eating like pigs & have shed several times. Needless to say there are high hopes for this project.
Enjoy!!!

hey J this is the first time i've seen it, but the one thing I notice that is different is that the eyes arn't red like a normal albino. the yellow also looks darker. but maybe its just the light.

What's hard to tell in these pictures is that all of the coloration on the snake that looks somewhat purple, is actually VERY purple in person. The pigmentation of these animals really freaks out the Coolpix 5700. In person they are very lavender/purple instead of white, and tangerine instead of yellow. Hey Kara, have you taken any analog, 35mm pics of these?
Looks like the camera doesnt know what to do with it.

Do you have to pay extra for the mites in the picture or do they come free?

I'm going to assume that you were joking when you made that comment. Our snakes do not have mites...in fact it's laughable that you would even think we would post photos of snakes with mites. Both of the Coral Glows have a peppering of darker scales throughout their purple coloration. This is sometimes called a "leaky gene" depending on which morph you are working with.

Not yet, but we're hoping to get a professional photographer in here in the not-too-distant, so hopefully he'll have better luck than we have. Those colors really do freak a digital camera out.

Although I have heard/seen the "leaky gene" in action (leucistic tx rats with their random color spots come to mind)
You gotta admit, it could look like a few mites, or specks of dirt to the unfamiliar eye.
I do think J was kidding.
hes a jerk like that sometimes.
just kidding J

Hey woman...like AGES ago!!! Back in September actually. The whole pic looks purple because our camera is extremely uppity...the Coolpix 5700 hisses & strikes at me if I even try to use it, so Kev has to take all the "really nice" ball python photos. Those pics were taken shortly after we got the camera & were working all the kinks out.
Long, boring story really, but better pics to follow in the near future.
What's new with you? Drop me a line or something & let's do some catching up!!!
K
