This tort is pretty big! I'd guess around 400-450 pounds. The average adult weight for males is 550 lbs. and 350 lbs. for females. Their approximate life span is over 100 years.
Speaking of the Civil War...
The first casualty of the American Civil War was caused by the bite of the Eastern Coral Snake (Micurus f. fulvius) according to Professor Janis Roze in his book "Coral Snakes of the Americas." The offending snake is preserved in a museum in Augusta, Georgia.

No, these guys are from the Aldabran Islands in the Indian Ocean and on average are slightly smaller than Galapagos Tortoises.
