The rm got him in TN. from a pet shop as a neonate, have no clue about his breeding or background but in a year we may try breeding him again to our oldest &amp; largest girl or possibly hold out for 4 years or so and breed him to an EBV red group we have. We suspect his color is genetic, but until he succesfully breeds he is just a really pretty boa.

I have a male BCI i got from Gulf Coast Reptiles that has that insane amount of beautiful color and is absolutely clean also...i have yet to find a female that looks like him......i have seen older &quot;siblings&quot; (from prior breedings of the same parents) of my BCI , and they look a lot like your red male...thats why i was asking where you got him from.
I think that would be a exciting project to breed BCI that are this immensely colorful, clean and have this gorgeous tail.
I too, hope that it is genetic in a way.

yup, EBV= East Bay Vivarium. I found one male of unknown history that looks like Clyde, but I have never seen a female like him. After 4 years of looking for a match I found pics of EBV's red group hold backs and figured it was as close as I was going to get anytime soon.
Depending on how things go over the next couple of months, I may get a second red group girl to go with him.

Should he turn out to be just a pretty boa, it's all good [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img] My only other pressing concern is a mate for my Rosy [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]
