What are their status up there? Almost everywhere they are protected at some level by the F&WS (read, need permit to keep them).

my friend has one almost exactly like that. they are pretty cool. he got it for free from someone that was mistreating it. what a shame. but now its doing great.

I used to catch little salamanders in my yard when I was little.. They are so cute!

J.. This one.. the Tiger Salamander, Ambystoma tigrinum , is not currently on our state's permit listing.. Give it time and it may be though.... The following are the ones that are currently listed on our state's permit list here....

Hey, Tiger keeping probably won't be restricted in our state anytime soon because they are not native to it. Marbled are around here though, and they are very similar.
