Bleeder\'s Club ..Bird bit my Bird

A dear friend of mine has gone through some really tough times this year, and due to all of this craziness, she ended up having a heart attack. She's doing well, but she remembered how much I loved birds, and asked me to adopt her Sun Conure.

Of course!!! I told her. He is an 8 year old Sun Conure, absolutely gorgeous bird. It has been quite a few years since my last conure bite, and I guess I should have took along a pair of gloves, because he tagged me pretty good at her house, then again when we got him home.

My big problem now is since he bit me on my middle finger, how am I gonna be able to drive? I NEED that finger to drive with !!! [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif[/img] [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif[/img]
The right index finger got munched so hopefully I can drive with that finger if I need to.

Conures hurt.....but I got a better one!!!! This past Tuesday I had to bring my bird (Umbrella Cockatoo)into work to be gassed down to pull a nasty broken blood feather. She goes down nice and upon wake up did great.......well until she hit the roof flipping out! In the midst of trying to grab her she grabbed me [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif[/img] on my left midde finger a the base of my nail is cacked and she punctured to the bone just behind the nail. I had to push down on the bottom part of her beak to get the top out. I felt bone contact and I almost passed out from the pain. [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_cry.gif[/img] It just stopped bleeding on Thursday and the bottom to the tip of my finger is numb....at least it doesn't hurt anymore...I can't feel a thing. I can't wait til it turns pretty....purple, yellow, green. I just wish I had pictures to show. I've never felt such pain when it happened!

awww gotta love the sun conures. they have so much personality. It won't take long for him to bond with ya schatzie but it will take a little patience. 8 years is a long time to get used to a family and the change is rough on him.

Reptscue...I had a grey squirrel do that to me once....hurts doesn't it? lol....mine was through the knuckle though of my middle finger...I couldn't bend it at all for over a month.

i had a sun conure bite me once, it wasnt that hard but i got a bruise. i loved that bird but I couldnt stand the screaming so I sold him. [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_cry.gif[/img]
