Walking around the city lake

Plainbelly or Midland Water Snake?..It was quite small, and as juvies the Plainbellies exhibit the brown/blotched colorations, and I suck at ID.

Same one under his log

Same log, but different snake..This one popped up on top of the log..

Adrya will have to ID these turtles, the one in front was a monster. These pics were taken from the upper road with max zoom at 12X if that gives you an idea of the distance.

Another in the middle of the lake

Thought these were kinda neat.

The falls downstream from where we herped

This should probably go in the Classifieds, huh?

Re: Walking around the city lake

See what I mean, Voodoo? You are just taking a stroll, and snakes and turtles just come out and pose for pictures! Never happens here.
BTW, I'll take the free kid! What was the original asking price? LOL

Re: Walking around the city lake

LOL!!!! I swear, I didn't even SEE these two untill some gentleman pointed them out because I had my hook with me..lol I hated to tell him I have taken to using it as a cane since it rarely gets used otherwise..
Turtles are a different story, those things are EVERYWHERE at this lake.
It's definitely a nice area to walk, about 3miles all the way around the lake on the road, and no boats with anything other than trolling motors are allowed.
