Because she eats once a week like a cute little oinker, this time I decided she was comfortable enough to handle me snapping pics of her eating. Well, trying to. She still has plenty to learn like... Maddy, don't try to eat it sideways. Maddy, use your body to help hold it, don't swing your head like Ray Charles! Maddy, I don't think reclining on your back is going to do much good!
At least she makes me laugh! That's my girl! Anyway enjoy the pics, and you can also check out these and more at Maddy's website: http://shakirafuego.digitalrice.com
Yes, yes, I'm aware her cage needs cleaning, but I'm waiting until she's digested before I do that.

You've got a beauty there! But just an observation....I'm not sure I'd keep those decorative stones in there unless they're attached to the base of her climb or something. I see visions of that burm that tried eating the towel that was used for a substrate or the python that ate her human style heating pad, controller and all. The towel was prevented, the heating pad...well, it took an operation to remove it. Like I said, just an observation....take it for what it's worth.

cute snake,
I bet the lil bugger could handle small adult mice.
That looks like a pinky, or a small fuzzy.
snakes make messes, cant keep their cage 100% clean 100% of the time, heck I know I couldnt.
I have a designated day every week , unless it is during a time when I am feeding more (pre winter, post oviposition, etc etc)

That is a good looking snake. I just bought my first ball python this weekend at the Reptile show in Tampa. Yours is almost as pretty as my girl.

phaedrus: Thanks for the tip... I hadn't thought about that. I didn't know they'd attempt to eat rocks!
1sttimesnakeowner: Yep, always. I know most feed in separate containers, but I'm questioning when to do that if I decide to eventually go that route. I just don't want to have her not eating because I've changed the habit and surroundings. She doesn't grab food from me either; I have to put the pinkie in the cage and she eventually comes up to it and starts to eat it. Any suggestions are muchly appreciated!
telefrag: Yeah, it's a pinkie alright. Well, technically a small fuzzy I guess. I want to start her on bigger food, but the pet store I buy the frozen ones from doesn't have frozen adults. Yeah, Petland sucks but that's the only place around that I know sells them. I'd buy online, but to buy bulk, websites normally require a minimum amount, no? I don't have the room nor the funds for like 50 mice. =\ So if I started to feed her two pinkies/fuzzies a week, would that be adequate enough?
Snake18: Oohhhh I envy! I wanted to go to the Tampa show soooo badly. Hope you had a great time! I'd love to see pics of your new girl!

The show was pretty good. I think it was a lot better last year. I will get pics up as soon as she settles in. The only time i held her is when i purchased her and when i put her in her new home. I named her wynona.

Nice pics, Thanks .
I agree, she really should get more food. Are you comfortable with putting the rodents down yourself? If so, you can freeze them. Just buy them live, put them down first, then freeze them overnight. Also, if your not able to do this (completely understandable ) you can probably ask one of the employees at petland *shutters* to put them down, and you can take them home and put them in the freezer. -Juggalo

Cool shots. I would increase the food as well. Order from rodentpro. You do order in bulk, but the larger prey items such as small rats and up come in smaller orders. Check them out.
