Those are great! One of the most important things I learned long ago, was to isolate your subject whenever possible. Usually the easiest way to do that is to move in closer. I'm working on the answer to your question on resizing. I think you want 1024x768. My camera is a Canon. I use the software that came with the camera for that. Another easy option since you use Photobucket, is: take big pics. When you upload them to Photobucket, you can specify what size you want them saved as. The 17" screen size is 1024x768.

Don't use MS Paint, that is the worst program that you can use for photo editing, Photoshop Elements and Paint Shop Pro are great programs, or you can get the free program Gimp, with this program you can do advanced image editing and photo manipulations, a great free replacement for Photoshop.

Owen, it looks like IF you were to use paint to resize, you would click image; then attributes or skew/stretch to resize it.
