Since she was deprived of food up till she was about 2 it seems she isnt growing much...I dont know if I could feed her something bigger, I dont wanna over do it so I'm still feeding her mice. I will try and measure her sometime so you guys can see how big she is. Anyways her home is 12.5x32 so maybe that'll help a bit. When I first came on here with her this is what she looked like...
And these are the pics I just took now after cleaning out her encloser.
For those of you that remember I was feeding her live, she eats fresh kill now...some might remember I thought it was grose to smack the mice, but now I'm comfortable with it and dont even think twice about it. It's really not that bad, I just stick it in a sock, and smack it against the wall hard. Oh and I dont wanna hear "GET RID OF THE HEAT ROCK"...it's got no cord

She is looking wonderful. Do not stress over it man. As long as you are feeding her good and she has no worms or illnesses, she will be fine
I have a three and a half year old male, that doesn't even look two, but he is as healthy as a horse and eats like mad. And there is nothing wrong with him. I just think he was the runt of the litter.
And he stayed runty
I love him to pieces and he is a sweet as can be.

I dont know...I'm not too sure and I dont want to feed her a small rat and her not to be able to digest it. If she could eat rats I would be more then happy to feed her a rat and get her nice and fat I will measure her tomorrow when her food's had time to settle since I just fed her yesterday. I think shes still hungry though...so maybe a rat or 2 mice at a time now??? We'll wait till I measure her and I'll ask you guys what you think. I was looking at a pic on here in one of the photoalbums of a Python smaller then her eating a rat so I think she should be able to do it.

I would say move her to small rats. I have nothing to compare her size to (but you will be measuring her, right?) but she looks big enough to handle small rats. You will be amazed at how quickly she will grow once you move to rats, as they are quite a bit more nutrious to the snake. If she is small, get the smallest small rat you can find, and after eating, even if there is a lump in her belly, you can be sure that it won't be there long.
I post this advice without knowing the history of this animal. But, if you have not had any problems with regurgs she should be fine with rats, at least IMHO. Good Luck, she is a very pretty snake!

I just measured her and she is 35.5" long, the only thing is the WIDEST part of her is only roughly 2.25x2.25 and the skinniest about 1.25x1.25...so rats or what?

Or...isn't there like a ratio on size? Like 2 or 3 times the size of her head or something?

Usual rule of thumb is 1 prey item the same thickness as the thickest part of her body. Keep in mind that this means the prey item must be stretched out to get the right size...if it's curled up, it looks a lot bigger.
Pretty snakey btw!

If I feed her a small rat what will happen if she cant take it? Will she not eat it? or Will she not be able to digest it and get sick? or die maybe? I dont want her to die...heh
A rat would definatly be thicker then the thickest part of her body...maybe a very small rat, like the size of a big mouse lol...would that make her grow faster then a mouse the same size?

They have some small rats at the pet store I buy my mice from so I'll get one next week...should I wait a week since the last feeding or 2 weeks since it'll be bigger?
Thanks for posting that chart, good info there.
