My "Lab" and Winter Setup... [**Pics**]
All I can say is... I'm really lucky and fortunate to have all of this. Nobody's ever really seen this room/building that I keep all of my critters in, so thought I would share.
Seems a bit cramped but it's actually the best space-saving winter setup that I've done since I've had this building for 3 or so years. Even with the white computer desk just recently added in there; which used to be in my old room in the main house before my new room upstairs was built and I got a new desk.
This building used to be an old cinderblock shed before we tore it down and rebuilt it with a full basement... and it's twice as big as the old shed. I honestly never anticipated it to be my 2nd room; was my dad's idea. It's got gas heating, electric and running water, and during the summer I use a window A/C. I slept in here all last summer... was quite a nice atmosphere actually. lol
Most of the time I call this place "The Lab"...
....and this winter the male and female turtles are split up in their own ponds because a couple of the males keep biting the neck of one of my females trying to mate with her, and tearing her up pretty bad. So now she's got all winter to heal and be away from those naughty boys. lol Boys in the upper pond, girls in the lower. And considering those two fiberglass ponds got picked up and blown across the yard and into the river by a 90mph wind gust several months ago, they're tough as heck and still just fine.
