This is for all you GTP Lovers out there!
We just got in this beautiful pair of Manakwaris. They are both the same size which is about 3 feet long but look at that bright yellow male!! He's got a white tipped tail and as well as a white tipped tongue and only slight specks of green...hopefuly he'll keep all his beautiful yellow! These guys aren't for sale but I just wanted to share pictures of them because they are some of the prettiest I've ever seen! Let me know what you think!
Thanks for Looking!

GTPs normally aren't too snappy.....Biaks can be a little on the snappy side sometimes but most can be handled if approached correctly. Aru GTPs are almost always quite handlable once acclimated and seem to be the most common "tame" GTP. Manakwaris are not A species that I have any experience handling..so maybe wetceal can enlighten us. Arboreals just require a little different approach to handling than other snakes that most of us are more used to and a lot of the care and gentleness that those of us that keep them use when removing them from the cage is missinterpreted often by people watching as us avoiding a bite or fear/respect. I can't speak for anyone but myself....but for me it's more about not stressing the animal and being careful not to cause a spinal injury when getting them off the perch. Even the snappy ones though...once out will rarely bite the hand holding them..just don't breath warm air at em when your face is in strike range and when shifting them from hand to hand....bring your other hand under and not over.
If that yellow male happens to hold all or most of that color...You have a gold mine Sometimes they change late though...with as uniform and briliant as that color is ....I don't think he's ever gone through the color change at all yet but..still ....beautiful snakes ...both of them.

Hello!
I'm glad to see that everyone is enjoying the pictures of these beauties! Here is some more information about them...
We got them last week from Bushmaster Reptiles (they always have such great animals!). They were Farm Raised in the only Chondro farm in Indonesia. These guys are not from the same clutch so they aren't related and they are both about one year old now. We are hoping that the yellow one will keep his color because he is already a year old and from what I was told, they generally have gone through about 80% to 90% of their color changes by the time they are a year old (it generally happens when they are around 6 months old). Please correct me if I am wrong...
Looking at the yellow one, we think (hope) that maybe it is some sort of Hypomelanism especially because of the tail coloration. The dark coloration on the tail isn't black, it's more of a greyish/purplish color. Also, the tip of the tongue being white is very interesting. At the moment, it only has some slight specks of green on it's body (you can see some green on its nose).
As for their temperment, the Manakwaris we have seen have tended to be alert but not really that nippy. They can be somewhat tense when you handle them but after time and exposure to being handled, they calm down nicely. When we took this pair out to photograph, the female (the green one) struck a couple of times intially but once we got her out, she calmed right down. The male (the yellow one) however was extremely mellow. He never struck at all and was a joy to handle!
I don't know what the market price is for Manakwaris at the moment but I think if the owners were to offer these for sale, I think they would ask around $700 to $800 (maybe more) for the green one and who knows how much for the yellow one. For comparisons sake, we currently have an adult male Emerald Tree Boa for sale for $550 so that'll give you an idea of our price ratio.
Here are a couple of other pictures of the Yellow Male...
