Quick question on that: What sort of finish or stain is good for standing up to the humidity level required? I'm looking into building my own viv, just cause I need some kind of project.

heh, i used polyurethane to seal it, but since the top is screen and i use heat lamps to heat it, my humdity SUCKS to maintain. you can also youse polycrylic or something like that. i used 100% silicone caulk on the corners

oh its a towel. adrian is in shed right now, and i have a hard time keeping her humidity up. so at least twice a day i switch the towel and soak it in hot water and it helps a great deal to hold my humidity up

yeah looks kinda high,maybe thats why your having trouble with the humidity
maybe some flex pad would sort that out for you, i sprey the tank twice a day just to make sure everything is ok

If they have thermostats that you can plug a heating device into (CHE, UTH, etc.), do they have hygrometers that you can plug a humidifier into?
