Our Newest Addition (dial-up warning)...
I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, not a snake...this time! This "little" guy is our newest addition! He is currently about 3 1/2 months old and weighs approximately 23 pounds. He's got wraps on his ears to help train them to stand up but they are totally healed. We can take them off in about four or five days.
I love puppies!! They are SO cute! He is bouncy and goofy and the sweetest puppy in the world! He should be about 90 pounds or so full grown. His name is Bauer
Sean & Bauer
He sleeps a lot...
And a couple of snake pictures so I'm not too much off topic
Thanks for looking!
Celia

Great looking dog!
I'm looking in to getting a female.
I just hope you think that once you take the posts out that you are done with traing his ears. Sometimes it can be a long battle in getting their ears to stand depending on how long they were cut.
Do you know if his parents have been tested for Von Willebrands Disease? I don't find many breeders that do.

They're so cute when the sleep...then they awaken!!!! Ahhhhh Seriously, he's a cutie! I've had dogs in my household, in one quantity or another, my entire life and couldn't be without one. Thanks for sharing the pics Celia.

Hello Everyone!
Thank you for the comments!
As for Bauer's parents, the sire is a VwD carrier but the female is not. So he is a potential carrier. At best, he is clear, at worst, he is a carrier so it won't be a problem. I am planning on breeding him eventually so I will make sure that the female I get is tested clear of VwD. I will get him tested when he is old enough.
He also comes with a lifetime health guarantee. I looked and looked and looked and could not find a good breeder locally. Every breeder I contacted locally was either no longer breeding Dobes or was out of puppies until much later this year. I ended up finding this wonderful breeder in Georgia after a bad experience with another breeder in Ohio.
I found a few breeders locally but they did not offer any guarantees whatsoever on their puppies and that's not what I was looking for. I figured I would invest the money initially and pay to get a dog who was sound in both body and mind from a breeder who stood behind her animals instead of having to put that money (and probably more) into things down the line if the dog were to need surgery or have some other serious problems.
Anyways, I'm sure to take lots more pictures as he grows!!
Thanks,
Celia
