Help Photoshop experts????

SO! I noticed some loss of color saturation last time I ordered business cards, and I was going through getting ready to order my next batch, since im out, and I was reading, that they convert the images to cmyk which, sucks. hahah. uh... yea, so most of the images lost a TINY bit of color saturation, but what can I do right? I tried to bump up the saturation enough, so that it isnt the end of the world, all were fine, except one, a bright green one, which, when converted, is more of a poo green color.

Also, when i change the colorspace to cmyk, the images look fine, but the thumbnails in the folder look all wonky
I dont know much about photoshop, cropping, stamping and adding text is my limit of PS knowledge. If anyone can help me so that 1/2 of my card doesnt look like poo, i would GREATLY APRECIATE IT!!!

OH MY GOD! photobucket wont let me upload it, and rtb wont let me upload it, so youll have to save it image > mode > cmyk to see what im talking about

so, here is a screen shot of the folder, to show what im talking about, anything with "copy" in it is the rgb versian.

Re: Photoshop experts????

I can kind of see what you are talking about just from the thumbnail spreadsheet. I'm out of my depth with PS too... The full size pic you posted looks awesome though.

Re: Photoshop experts????

1. Get to know the people who do your printing. This is not a photoshop failing, it's a printer failing.
2. Do you have a reasonably good printer at home? Print an "Original" of each picture and send it along with so that the printer has real world colors to compare the saturation too.
3. Get samples. Get the printer to make a limited run of each print (usually one sheet is 8x10 or something like that before they cut it) so that you can compare color before you have 10,000 cards that you can't use.
4. Impress upon the printer how important color is to your business. You want people to be impressed by your animals, not yawn at your poor business cards.

Re: Photoshop experts????

You should work in and submit your images in RGB. When the printer converts the image to CMYK color they normally use a custom RGB to CMYK conversion which takes into consideration such things as the paper used, printer used, printer method used etc. If you submit your images as CMYK the printer won't be able to convert the images to their custom CMYK format.

Make sure that you're giving the printer the highest resolution they can handle.

I think Morti gave the best advise in having a sample printed.
