Digital camera recommendations?
So, I've decided I need a camera to catch nice shots of my animals. I don't have a ton to spend and I want something digital that takes SD cards. Recommendations? Most of my subjects will probably be in motion. Puppies never stop moving.

I got $300 from my taxes, but don't want to spend all of it, I suppose. I'm not sure what the average price of lower quality digis is.

I've got a Canon Powershot G6 from about two and a half years ago. Before that I had a Canon A something or other. I like them both. However, I haven't fully mastered the in-motion with a digital. Setting the shutter speed and other stuff takes far more patience than I have.

I'm not really all that up on point and shoots but here's what you look for, OPTICAL zoom. The difference in optical and digital zoom is that digital zoom is merely an enlarged and cropped version of the same capture done by the camera's internal software. Blowing up an image file reduces the quality. Optical zoom is true zoom. The image is magnified through the lens before it's captured.
Olympus, Pentax, Fuji, Nikon, Canon, Kodak etc...all good and plenty to choose from in your price range. I'd steer clear of off brands.
