Nikon D70 or Canon EOS 20D
Just wondering if you guys had any opinions on these 2 cameras. The EOS 20D has a higher resolution, but from what I gather lacks features that the D70 has. Most the of the shots I will be taking will be nature shots outside
If your interested in these 2 cameras check em out at dpreview.com

Comparing those two cameras is like comparing kiwis to lemons
The D70 is more in direct competition with the Canon 300D (Digital Rebel) feature and resolution wise.
I have had the 300D for about a year now and love it. Supposedly the D70 has better metering and a few other features that might make it more attractive than the 300D. Aesthetically the D70 is much nicer than the 300D, it looks a lot and feels more like a sturdy professional camera. But.... for the money the 300D is a steal..... right now you can snag a 300D with the 18-55 EFs lens for around $660 after the $100 rebate that Canon has going.

Heh I already checked out the 300D and decided against it for many reasons. I had my mind made up a while back, then Canon decided to come out with the 20D which sparked my interest in Canon.
$650 is a very awesome price for the 300D, but I don't think the 300D can even compare to the D70 (this is all my review reading and actually comparing the 2 in person).

I agree with you there.... I wish that the D70 were out back in December when we purchased the Rebel. If it were we would be a Nikon family. I was considering the purchase another camera and was leaning towards the D70. We didnt need anything larger than the 6.3MP that the D70 and the 300D offer and I like the quality of the lenses from Nikon more than that from Canon.

Oh I did come across some articles somewhere... I am trying to find them now about the horrible noise that the D70 has in the higher ISO levels.
Here's one comparison on the 300D, D70, and D100...
http://www.digitalreview.ca/cams/NikonD70_page5.shtml
Here's a link to some comparison images that show some of what I mentioned about the noise.....

Ok here is the link:
http://www.kenrockwell.com/canon/20d.htm
This guy apparently thinks the 20D is a bad choice compared to a D70.

I've only used Nikon cameras, so you know my opinion.
Nikon is preparing to release it's next generation of pro DSLR's. No doubt these will be expensive, but this will help drive down the cost of the current Nikon DSLRs.
