Seriusly, I am appalled at the stupidity of these people. I wonder if someone could sue the store after their snake dies a horrible death from a 'beneficial' mite infestation.

I'm sure they could...only problem is...the people who would buy the snake then have it die wouldn't know any better so they wouldn't sue. Those of us that no better couldn't stand around and let the poor thing get offed by mites...*grumble-effin morons-grumble*

Re: Now I understand, snakes are SUPPOSED to have mites
Wow I'm just blown away and hope for that poor snake getting eaten alive...I really hope for any animals sake that if anyone saw something this appalling that they would do something about it...especially if its a big chain pet store like petco or petNotSoSmart...

It was Petco.
Thankfully they have stopped selling burms since then but other than that, not much has changed in 6 YEARS!

Re: Now I understand, snakes are SUPPOSED to have mites
This MITE be the best thread I have seen in a while, and then again it MITE not.
In any case, let us give it its due respect for being twice necroed.
If leeches can be beneficial why not mites too? LOL!!!

Re: Now I understand, snakes are SUPPOSED to have mites
The saddest part about this thread is the fact these chain stores haven't got much better 8(
As for mites being beneficial to boas that is definitely the top piece of mis information I have heard second to hmmm probably that snakes only grow to the size of their enclosure which also came from one of our illustrious chain stores full of experts.
I was actually in one Saturday, and their reptile expert had no clue where to find lid locks "I got more breeder rats" and when I said I was breeding rats tried to sell me a habitrail and told me I cant keep rats in a tank they need special habitats. Yeah plastic boxes with tubes they could barely squeeze thru!?!?
hmm not as bad as mites are good but cant find reptile supply in the reptile department and has no clue about the fuzzy critters ether?? hmm he was sent to me as he was the "reptile guy" ROFL.

"Like one who on a lonely road
Doth walk in Fear and Dread,
And, having once looked back, walks on
And no more turns his head -
because he knows a Frightful "Mite" does close behind him tread."
I think it is POE, Edgar A., who wrote this except I put "Mite" instead of Fiend.
Are we allowed to hijack this Horrible, reeking old Zombie thread? Just for Halloween?
