Cats make up the diets of canines on occasion. Do you think Purina[TM} is likely to come out with a new brand? CAt chow for dogs? How about a aborted fetuses being givin' to Panthera tigris at zoological gardens. Or how about children killed in car wrecks? Foregoing the lamb, chicken and beef that makes up the bulk of the animal by-products that are found in dog-food? I'm answering your questions. Have anymore? So yes, we do determine what animals are "acceptable" for consumption. Those animals are domesticated livestock who have been selectively bred for the purpose of either feeding humans or companion animals. Just like rats, mice, rabbits, mealworms, crickets, fruit-flies,etc. Have been selectively bred for consumption purposes. MAle felines have been known to commit infanticide when a congener's neonatal progeny have been introduced to their environment. Should we begin feeding live neonatal kits to male domestic felines?
