The Bean Farm

Anyone ever use these guys? I'm looking at one of their UTH and it seems okay but the price worries me a little. I generally use Zoo Med. I was also looking at a Zilla UTH. Any suggestions? Here is the linkfor the Bean Farm store. If someone with a little knowledge can help me with this I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Re: The Bean Farm

I've ordered all my heat tape and accessories for it from them, as well as many books.

I've never had complaints, their prices are kinda like anywhere else, some things are cheaper there, some are cheaper other places, but everything I ever ordered was shipped quickly and exactly what I had ordered.

hope that helps.

Well that's good. Are their UTH's as good as Zoo Med's?

The ultratherm heat pads are well worth the cost. As far as I'm concerned they are far superior to similar products from Zilla and Zoo-Med.

An alternative is the T-Rex Cobra Heat mats (which are the same as the ultratherm. They can be found cheaper - the only down side is that there is less of a choice of sizes.

Re: The Bean Farm

I do love me some bean farm.

Back in the day, the first time I ordered heat tape, I picked up the phone and called all the "Big Name" suppliers. The ones who were able to complete my transaction with the maximum in speed and the minimum in stress were The Bean Farm.

Re: The Bean Farm

I order 90% of my stuff from the Bean farm, really good people to deal with. The get there name because the also grow soy beans.

Giovani also breeds some very nice locality Rosy boas as well as a few banded geckos.

Re: The Bean Farm

I have never used the bean farm. But ZooMed is not noted for the high quality of their products. BTW, if you scroll down to the other links, there is another thread with your exact question--maybe has more information for you.

Re: The Bean Farm

Been a long while ago, but they used to have a table at the San Diego Herp expos...and great for ordering supplies from! As a matter of fact, that is one place you can buy supplies to tube-feed your snakes!!! (If you try to get syringes & urethral catheters from local Dr.'s or medical suppliers, you'll find yourself OUT of LUCK! lol, heaven knows what they think people want them for, but even if you tell them, they think you are a lunatic?!? been there....)
