Question British Columbia/Washington - Where to get stuff?

Anyone around these areas?
where do you guys pick up food and supplies?
im in vancouver
and im getting tired of supporting the usualy Petsmart, Petland, Mr Pets not that any of them actually have anything interesting
and im limited to what i can actually get wholesale
and where can i get decent feeders that dont look like they've been frozen for over a year?
so where do you shop?

Re: British Columbia/Washington - Where to get stuff?

southfloridarodents.com is where i get mine. quality feeders, great prices. i drive for 25 minutes to buy these, so i dont know what shipping prices are. Jack showed me around his place, it doesnt even smell like some places do. he showed me his stuff, top notch.
never gotten any mangey or sickly lookin rats. he has mice, rats, african soft fur rats, rabbits, mealworms, crickets etc etc. also jack has a bunch of snakes and some really cool (one of them huge) monitor lizards, i dunno if he sells those though.
products like heat tape, tstats, foggers, hygrometers i get from bigappleherp.com. that i have shipped and didnt take long at all overall good service.
tubs i buy from The Container Store or Bed Bath & Beyond.
racks i build myself from xpvc.

Re: British Columbia/Washington - Where to get stuff?

Thats another problem, theres all these amazing sites, but most of them dont ship to Canada, and if they do it ends up costing just as much or more then the big chain stores here because all the fun sites are on the east coast. and i have a feeling border customs doesnt allow frozen rodents accross the border sadly

Re: British Columbia/Washington - Where to get stuff?

Yeah... I have the same problem (in OR). Most of the big frozen rodent companies ship out here, but charge ridiculous amounts... so it's only worth it if you order A LOT. My advice would be to check out Craigslist for rodent breeders. I've been able to find some local people with fairly reasonable prices (certainly better that Petco/Petsmart). The closest one to you I've been to was in Vancouver, WA. Idk if he ships, but I would definitely see what you can find. Good luck

Re: British Columbia/Washington - Where to get stuff?

i was hoping to find some people selling feeders on craigslist/buy and sell or any of those other sites but it seems since ive gotten my snake, nobody sells feeders anymore. everything good is in the US lol
( atleast if theres any decent pet stores in WA its driveable but that still rules out feeders! )

Re: British Columbia/Washington - Where to get stuff?

I'm in southern OR, but I buy almost all my supplies from the Bean Farm. which is located in Carnation, WA. Fast shipping, good prices, and great customer service.
The Bean Farm Store
Feeders though are harder for me to find, mostly I buy from local pet stores.

I raise feeders, Don't know Canadian laws on frozen rodent importing.
